One week, three sessions, a complete picture of your health, all for $99

PARK CITY, Utah — The Smart Fit Method’s new longevity assessment offers elite-level diagnostics, the kind used by professional athletes, alongside a personalized 90-day blueprint, trainer consultation and metabolic specialist review, all through the end of April.

Most gym memberships come with a key fob and a floor full of equipment. The Smart Fit Method, a Park City fitness studio, is taking a different approach: before anyone writes a single workout, they want to know exactly who they’re working with.

The studio’s longevity assessment, available for $99 (normally $400) through the end of April, is a week’s worth of professional-grade diagnostics in a three-session experience, complete with a personalized training blueprint, a trainer consultation, and access to a metabolic specialist.

“The assessment gives you a full picture of where your fitness is at and also how much recovery you need. It allows us to figure out what we call the smart dose of exercise, a dose that’s tailored to you based on your diagnostics,” said co-founder Connor Darnborough.

The concept of a personalized exercise dose is central to The Smart Fit Method’s philosophy. Darnborough said the recommended volume of training can vary dramatically depending on a person’s age, fitness history and recovery capacity, factors that a standard gym program rarely accounts for. The Smart Fit Method tailors to the individual, not generalizations based on sex or age.

What the assessment actually measures

The longevity assessment is built around four core components that together paint a detailed picture of physical health.

The first is a VO2 max test, the gold standard for measuring cardiovascular fitness and aerobic capacity, the same metric used by elite endurance athletes. Alongside that, the studio measures resting metabolic rate (RMR), which determines how many calories a person burns at rest and how efficiently their body uses fat versus carbohydrates. That data feeds directly into a personalized nutrition framework.

The assessment also includes a body composition scan, measuring fat mass, muscle mass, bone density and body circumferences, and a postural and alignment assessment that can identify muscular imbalances or skeletal tilts that, left unaddressed, can lead to chronic pain or injury.

“We can see if there are any tilts in the body or misalignment in terms of someone’s posture, which can lead to eventual injury or discomfort. We can get ahead of that by doing that assessment,” Darnborough said.

Rounding out the picture are a strength-to-weight ratio test and a grip strength assessment, both reliable markers of functional fitness and long-term health outcomes.

"We look at exercise like medicine," Connor Darnbrough said. "Based on your symptoms, goals, and current health status, we determine the proper frequency, dosage, and intensity. That medicine is different for each person."

How the week unfolds

The three sessions are typically spread across a single week, giving participants time to rest between appointments. Darnborough describes it less as a testing period and more as a free trial of everything the studio offers.

Session one runs about 45 minutes and covers the body scan, postural alignment review, and strength and grip assessments. No special preparation is required. Session two, also about 45 minutes, is where the metabolic testing happens, the RMR test and VO2 max assessment. Participants should arrive fasted and caffeine-free for accurate readings. Session three includes a complimentary workout and recovery session, followed by a full consultation with a trainer to walk through results and the 90-day blueprint.

Between sessions, participants are welcome to use the studio’s equipment and recovery facilities freely.

At the conclusion of the process, participants receive a 90-day training blueprint built entirely from their individual data, not a template, but a program calibrated to their current fitness, recovery needs and daily schedule. A consultation with a metabolic specialist is also included for those who want to fine-tune nutrition details or dig deeper into their results.

“The trainer will help them actually take the plan and build it into their day-to-day life. The metabolic specialist is for when people need extra information or really want to fine-tune things,” Darnborough said.

Groups and corporate activations

The Smart Fit Method operates a mobile unit, meaning the longevity assessment isn’t limited to the studio. Sports teams, clubs, and corporate offices can arrange group activation sessions that bring the full diagnostic suite directly to their location.
