Two killed in head-on collision on SR-32 near Kamas

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Two people were killed Monday morning in a head-on collision on State Route 32 after a northbound vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:44 a.m. on SR-32.

According to UHP, a white Toyota Camry was traveling north when it drifted off the roadway. The driver then overcorrected, causing the car to rotate about 90 degrees and come to rest sideways in the southbound lane.

A southbound Jeep Wrangler struck the passenger side of the Camry.

The driver and passenger of the Camry were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released pending notification of family members.

The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene, according to UHP.

The crash remains under investigation.

SR-32 was temporarily closed Monday morning while emergency crews responded and investigators documented the scene.
