Possession of Marijuana

While conducting a traffic stop on SR-32, deputies detected the scent of marijuana. A search of the vehicle based on probable cause uncovered a small quantity of marijuana and related paraphernalia. Subsequently, the driver received a Juvenile Referral and was released into the custody of an adult family member.

Sunday, Jan. 14

Theft

Deputies were dispatched in response to a report of a recent theft at Sunglass Hut in the Park City Outlets. It was conveyed that the perpetrators entered the store and made off with multiple pairs of sunglasses. The suspects subsequently departed the vicinity in a white Honda Accord or Honda Civic without license plates. Efforts to locate the vehicle proved unsuccessful, and the case is currently ongoing with the initial deputy tasked for further investigation.

Tuesday, Jan. 16

Theft

Loss prevention conducted an investigation into an employee theft at Macey’s grocery store, where the employee stole $10,650.00 over several months. Following an interview, the employee confessed to the theft and was subsequently arrested without incident. They were then transported to Summit County Jail and booked on a Felony 2 theft charge.

Stalking

The complainant raised issues concerning her ex-boyfriend, expressing worries about him reaching out to her through phone calls and potentially visiting her workplace. Although the male was last seen around four weeks ago, the complainant fears a potential escalation in his behavior. She has been provided with details for obtaining a civil stalking injunction and a temporary protective order. The investigation into the stalking allegations is currently underway.

Recovered Vehicle

Authorities were called to inspect a vehicle that had skidded off SR-40 Westbound. Upon reaching the scene, a registration check unveiled that the vehicle was reported as stolen. The two individuals accompanying the vehicle at the time of the deputies’ arrival were subsequently apprehended. The vehicle underwent processing at the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Thursday, Jan. 18

Possession of Marijuana

During a traffic stop on Aspen Drive due to a headlight violation, a distinct odor resembling Marijuana was noticed. Subsequent to a search of the vehicle, both drugs and drug paraphernalia were discovered. The individual was issued a citation for possessing drug paraphernalia.
