Break the Silence: a community conversation about child maltreatment

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. In order to help Break the Silence in our community, Park City Film, Mountain Mediation, Park City Library, the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center, and the CJC Multidisciplinary team-Summit County are partnering to sponsor an event at the Jim Santy Auditorium on Thursday, May 2 from 7 until 9 PM.  Our conversation will center around the film “Broken Trust” which is part of Park City Film’s Raising Voices Film Series. After the film, we will have a discussion with Wendy Crossland, Victim Advocate, Summit County Attorney’s office, Laurieann Thorpe, Executive Director, Prevent Child Abuse Utah, Carrie Sheinberg, Associate Producer and Olympian. Roger Armstrong, Summit County Council member, will moderate. The panel discussion will be followed by small group community conversations facilitated by Mountain Mediation.
