S.R. 248 roadwork slated to begin July 25

PARK CITY, Utah — Construction on one of Park City’s main arterial roads is expected to begin following the Pioneer Day holiday.

This construction, conducted by Park City Municipal in partnership with the Utah Department of Transportation, is intended to improve the stretch of State Route 248 between the intersections with Bonanza Drive and Richardson Flat.

The road’s existing asphalt will be milled and new asphalt will be applied to the highway. A new portion of shoulder will be installed, road striping adjustments will be made, and eastbound and westbound lanes will be narrowed slightly at the intersections of Bonanza Drive and Wyatt Earp Way in order to reduce road speeds, and make space for buses and bicyclists.

Construction is expected to be completed in mid-September, but could  be completed by the start of the 2023-24 school year on August 22.

An informational public open house on the project will be held on Wednesday, July 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Prospector Park.
