Christmas tree permits going quick
UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST, Utah — Christmas tree permits for the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest sold out quickly on Tuesday.
The permits went live on recreation.gov at 10 a.m. Around 12:30, the Forest Service said they had sold out.
However, individuals can still purchase permits in person at the following locations:
- Kamas Forest Service office — open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Heber Forest Service office — open Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Mountainland One Stop in Heber — 5 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Mirror Lake Service Chevron in Kamas — open 5:45 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Species of trees that can be cut include subalpine fir, white fir, and lodgepole pine. Trees 20 feet tall or shorter may be cut and removed until December 25. All trees must be tagged prior to transporting them.
