UPDATE: One dead after Deer Valley Drive stabbing; homicide investigation underway

PARK CITY, Utah — One person has died following a stabbing on Deer Valley Drive Friday morning, and Park City police are investigating the incident as a homicide.

Officers with the Park City Police Department responded at approximately 8:35 a.m. to a report of a stabbing at 505 Deer Valley Drive, according to a department news release.

Two individuals were transported to a Salt Lake City hospital for treatment, one by helicopter and one by ambulance. Police said one of those individuals later died from their injuries.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public and believe the incident was isolated.

The investigation remains active. Additional information will be released as it becomes available and when appropriate to do so, according to the department.
