U.S. Senate Candidate Brad Wilson raises over $1.25 million in Q1, wins Wayne, Weber County GOP delegate backing

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – Brad Wilson, former Speaker of the Utah House of Representatives and current contender for the U.S. Senate, has raised more than $1.25 million in campaign funds during the initial quarter, securing the highest cash reserve among all candidates vying for the vacant seat left by Senator Romney.

Wilson, who is running in a crowded Republican field which includes current member of the U.S. House of Representatives John Curtis, currently has exceeded over $2 million in total campaign contributions.

“I’m very grateful to the Utahns who’ve stepped up in a big way and invested in my campaign,” Wilson said. “The incredible financial support I’ve received shows momentum is on our side and it’s why we’ve continued to lead the field in fundraising, grassroots support and endorsements across the state.”

“I look forward to continuing to spread our message and showing Utah why I’m the only conservative fighter who’s tested and trusted to stand for our values.”

Engaged in the campaign circuit, Wilson has traveled extensively throughout Utah’s 29 counties, organizing more than 150 voter events statewide.

Wilson’s persistence has paid off, as he has earned the endorsement of over three quarters of Utah County Sheriffs, roughly three quarters of members in Utah’s House of Representatives, and over two thirds of Utah Senate Republicans.

“It’s been incredible to travel across all across our great state and meet with thousands of Utahns who are ready to elect a conservative fighter to the U.S. Senate,” Wilson said.

“Everywhere I go Utahns tell me: we need someone in Washington who understands Utah values and is tested and trusted to fight for what we believe in. I’ve been humbled by the outpouring of support we’ve seen, from all across the state, by Utahns who are ready for a principled conservative with the guts to stand and fight for our values.”

In addition to receiving a large amount of endorsements, Wilson has also recently won GOP straw polls in Weber and Wayne Counties. In Wayne County, Wilson won the poll by over 50%.

“I’m honored to have won last night’s straw poll at the Wayne County Convention with over 50% of the vote. I’ll fight every day in Washington DC for the issues facing southern Utah and for the values that make our place the best place to live, work, and raise a family,” Wilson said.

More recently Wilson won the Weber County straw poll, albeit by a smaller margin. Wilson won with 30% of the vote, beating Rep. Curtis at 22.2% and Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs at 21.9%.

“I’m honored to have the support of our delegates in Weber County,” said Brad Wilson. “This is a clear sign that momentum is on our side as we head into the final two weeks before convention. Utahns are seeing that I am the only tested and trusted conservative fighter in this race who has what it takes to turn our country around.”

Wilson will continue to campaign across the state leading up to the Republican party primary in June.
