Public hearing on water rate tonight Tuesday, April 4

PARK CITY, Utah — The first public hearing on a proposed water rate structure modification will take place tonight at the Park City Council meeting.

According to a Park City staff report, this proposed water rate structure modification is intended to further incentivize conservation, with a focus on multi-family, commercial, and irrigation account types. A customer’s water bill would be determined based on the amount of water used each month.

One of the proposed changes to the current rate structure would allow a water customer to choose the size of meter they want to be billed, rather than being billed based on their physical meter size, without physically switching their meter.

The public hearing is a part of the regular meeting, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. A second public hearing on the water rate structure is scheduled for April 27.

Virtual attendance options are available.
