Be giving and green this holiday season with Park City Library’s Toy Swap

PARK CITY, Utah — In the spirit of giving and being green, the Park City Library’s Toy Swap encourages community members to clear out the old and keep toys out of landfills. On December 2, 3, and 4, donate gently used, clean toys to the library or swap them for different ones to be a bit more green this holiday season.

Toys for infants all the way to teens will be accepted at this free event. The event runs on Friday, December 2, and Saturday, December 3, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, December 4, from 1- p.m.

According to The World Counts, “The toy industry uses 40 tons of plastic for every $1 million in revenues and is the most plastic-intensive industry in the world. 90% of the toys on the market are made of plastic.”

This event fosters sustainability in the community by extending the lifespan of toys. Learn more about how to be sustainable at the Library’s Sustainability Resource Center.

The library will also offer a Winter Stitches Series that will focus on mending and upcycling clothing.
