Heavy snow could impact travel on Thursday and Friday

PARK CITY, Utah — The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting up to 26 inches of snow for Park City through Friday night.

Snowfall is projected into next week, surely guaranteeing a White Christmas on Saturday.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from Thursday morning through Saturday morning in the Wasatch Back, with the greatest amounts in the Ogden Valley, and from Park City to Kamas. During that period, possible accumulation ranges from 5 to 15 inches.

“Travel could be very difficult,” NWS said. “The period of heaviest snowfall is expected Thursday evening through Friday morning, and could impact peak holiday travel times.”

“The next two weeks are expected to be busy,” Park City Municipal said in a post. “Regardless of where you’re heading — the resorts, to dinner, work, or elsewhere — we encourage you to help keep Park City moving by carpooling or riding FREE Park City Transit!”
