PARK CITY, Utah — Starting on Thursday, November 18, legendary ski resort trail map artist James Niehues will be releasing for sale original paintings and sketches of Utah mountains.
Each Thursday, a new group of paintings and sketches will be released:

- November 25: Park City, Brighton, Solitude
- December 2: Snowbird, Eagle Point, Snowbasin, Beaver
- December 9: Deer Valley, Powder Mountain
Additionally, signed, limited edition canvas art prints and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for Alta, Cottonwood Canyons, Deer Valley, Park City, Snowbasin, Snowbird, Solitude, and Utah State Ski Map will be available. The NFTs offer the buyers the chance to start their own digital collection.
“I have always enjoyed the challenge of fitting an entire mountain on a single page. Mountains are wonderful puzzles, and I knew if I painted with the right amount of detail, they would last. A good design is relevant for a few years, maybe even a decade. But a well-made map is used for generations. As I retire from painting ski maps, I am thrilled to know hundreds of my maps are still used by skiers and snowboarders, including my earliest work from the 1980s,” Niehues said.
