Monster Drawing Rally returns to Kimball Art Center

PARK CITY, Utah — The Arts Council of Park City & Summit County, in partnership with Kimball Art Center, is hosting its 10th Monster Drawing Rally on September 19. This raucous, creative community favorite will take place from 3-6 p.m. at the Kimball Art Center, located at 1251 Kearns Boulevard in Park City. Attendees can watch artists create their work in real time.
“What’s not to love about Monster Drawing Rally? It’s the county’s most dynamic art-centered event,” said Jocelyn Scudder, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Park City & Summit County. “This event has quickly captured the hearts of local artists and art lovers. We want to provide artists an opportunity to build meaningful connections and attendees the chance to acquire original artwork at accessible prices.”
During the Rally, artists are challenged to create 2D artwork in 50-minute shifts starting at 3:10, 4:10, and 5:10 p.m. Finished pieces are available for purchase immediately at $50 each. The winner of each piece is decided by a luck of the draw when there is more than one bidder. All 35 artists participate in each round.
Artists participating in the Monster Drawing Rally donate the sale of their $50 artwork to the partner arts nonprofits. All proceeds go to support the production of the event and future creative community programming through the Kimball Art Center and the Arts Council of Park City & Summit County. Many of the artists also provide work for a Silent Auction. Bidding will take place throughout the event until 5:30 p.m. Sixty percent of the silent auction proceeds go directly back to the artists.
