Jordanelle’s dark skies set the stage for summer star party

JORDANELLE STATE PARK, Utah — Rocky Mountain Astronomy Tours will host a star party at the Rock Cliff Nature Center on Friday, Aug. 7, offering participants a chance to explore the night sky with the help of local astronomy enthusiasts.

Volunteer telescope operators will be on site to help visitors identify celestial objects. Telescopes will be available for public use, and attendees are also welcome to bring their own telescopes or binoculars.

The Rock Cliff Nature Center is located within Jordanelle State Park, one of Utah’s Certified Dark Sky Parks. Regular park entrance fees apply, but the star party is free to attend.

The event comes as the annual Perseid meteor shower approaches its peak, providing an opportunity for visitors to spot meteors streaking across the night sky.
