Park City road work ramps up with paving projects and bus stop improvements

PARK CITY, Utah — Drivers in Park City can expect delays over the coming weeks as road crews repave neighborhood streets and begin improvements to bus stops along Kearns Blvd.

Park City Municipal teams are milling and repaving several roads throughout town as part of its annual pavement maintenance program, while construction on two bus shelters along Kearns Boulevard will temporarily shift traffic into the center turn lane.

Neighborhood road repaving underway

Park City’s Public Works Department and contractor JKT Excavation are repairing roads showing signs of wear by milling old pavement and laying new asphalt.

Work is scheduled through July 21, weather permitting, on the following streets:

Lucky John Drive to Meadows Drive: July 10–13
Sunny Slopes Drive: July 10–14
Fairway Hills Court to Meadows Drive: July 13, 15–16
Little Kate Drive to Three Kings Court: July 15 and 20
Webster Drive: July 15 and 20
Hillside Avenue to Marsac Avenue: July 16 and 21

The city said approximately 2.75 tons of asphalt will be placed as crews repair pavement throughout town. Motorists should expect temporary lane restrictions and brief delays in work zones.

Bus stop construction affecting Kearns

Separately, reconstruction has begun on two westbound bus shelters along S.R. 248 at the Learning Center and Park City High School.

During construction, westbound traffic will be shifted into the center turn lane to create a protected work area while maintaining one travel lane in each direction.

Drivers traveling through the area should expect reduced speeds and use extra caution around crews and changing traffic patterns.

The city encourages motorists to plan ahead, allow extra travel time where construction is underway, and follow posted traffic control devices.
