City, county offices and libraries to close for Pioneer Day

PARK CITY, Utah — Government offices, libraries, and state liquor stores across Summit County will close Friday, July 24, in observance of Pioneer Day, while some recreational facilities will remain open.

Park City Municipal announced that City Hall and administrative offices will be closed for the holiday. The Park City Library will also be closed.

The Park City Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center (PC MARC) will remain open on its regular schedule from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Summit County government offices and all branches of the Summit County Library will also be closed Friday for the state holiday.

Pioneer Day, observed annually on July 24, commemorates the arrival of Mormon pioneers in the Salt Lake Valley in 1847 and is recognized as an official state holiday in Utah. As a result, many government offices and public services operate on modified schedules.

Residents planning to visit government offices, libraries, or state liquor stores are encouraged to plan ahead and complete any business before or after the holiday weekend.
