Great Lawn Concert Series moves to The Notch Pub for 2026 season

KAMAS, Utah — A popular Kamas Valley summer music tradition is getting a temporary new home this year.

Mountain Town Music announced its free Great Lawn Concert Series, typically held at High Star Ranch, will relocate to The Notch Pub for the 2026 summer season while the ranch undergoes a series of property improvements under new ownership.

The weekly concerts will continue uninterrupted, remaining free to attend and running from 7 to 9 p.m. throughout the summer.

“For years, the Great Lawn has been a special gathering place for music lovers in the Kamas Valley,” Mountain Town Music Executive Director Brian Richards said in a statement. “While we’re disappointed that we won’t be able to utilize the venue this summer, we understand the improvements being made to the property and are grateful to The Notch Pub for helping ensure that live music remains a part of the community this season.”

The Great Lawn at High Star Ranch has become a staple of Mountain Town Music’s summer programming, drawing residents and visitors to the sprawling outdoor venue for free performances by local, regional, and touring artists. The concert series has long been known for its relaxed atmosphere, where attendees could bring picnics, coolers, and dogs to enjoy live music against the backdrop of the Kamas Valley.

Richards said the nonprofit hopes to return the series to High Star Ranch in 2027 once the improvement projects are complete.

“We appreciate the support of both High Star Ranch and The Notch Pub as we navigate this transition,” Richards said. “Most importantly, we’re excited that the music will continue and that our audience will still have a place to gather, connect, and enjoy live performances throughout the summer.”

Mountain Town Music programs hundreds of free performances annually across Summit County and the Wasatch Back, including concerts in Park City, Peoa, Kimball Junction, Deer Valley, Canyons Village, and Kamas.
