Police Log: Traffic hazards, noisy rentals, and vagrancy reports

Park City police received multiple complaints last week tied to ongoing traffic concerns, including malfunctioning construction-area traffic signals near SR-224, speeding vehicles in residential neighborhoods, and a driver cited for texting while driving near Meadows Drive.
Other incidents logged by the Park City Police Department included a moose attempting to cross SR-224 near the white barn, a man reportedly moving into a Gold Dust Lane bus stop with numerous belongings, and complaints about loud music, hot tub parties, and noisy vehicles echoing through neighborhoods.
Monday, May 18
Incident: Suspicious
An individual was found sleeping inside a vehicle with a dead battery in the lower First Time lift parking lot at Park City Mountain.
Incident: Traffic hazard
A caller reported the traffic light to turn onto SR-224 from Meadows Drive and the light for cars to continue on SR-224 in the same intersection appeared green simultaneously, creating a dangerous traffic situation.
Incident: Traffic hazard
A vehicle blocked the entire roadway on Main Street before being moved to Swede Alley.
Incident: Hit and run
A caller reported someone struck her daughter’s vehicle at Park City High School and left the scene.

Incident: Disturbing the peace
A caller reported a strange buzzing noise coming from a suspected Airbnb on Park Avenue overnight.

Incident: Wildlife problem
A moose was reportedly attempting to cross SR-224 near the white barn.
Incident: Traffic hazard
A large rock was reported in the Deer Valley roundabout area, creating a roadway hazard.
Incident: Trespassing
A caller reported a man had locked himself inside a second-floor restroom on Prospector Avenue, leaving belongings outside.
Incident: Disturbing the peace
A resident complained about extremely loud dance music near Deer Valley Drive for the second time in recent days.
Incident: Vagrancy
A caller reported what they believed was a cart of items belonging to a homeless individual near Prospector Ave.
Thursday, May 21
Incident: Disturbing the peace
A caller reported a loud truck noise on Main Street that could allegedly be heard from eight blocks away.
Incident: Property damage
A resident reported a damaged window at a home on Seasons Drive while the homeowners were out of town.
Incident: Non-injury accident
Two vehicles collided near Bonanza Drive and Deer Valley Drive. No injuries were reported.
Incident: Vagrancy
A caller reported a man with numerous belongings appeared to be living at a bus stop on Gold Dust Lane.

A property manager responded and asked for officer support after receiving reports of alarms sounding at a residence on Sun Ridge Court.

Incident: Disturbing the peace
Police received a complaint about noise from a nightly rental property with a hot tub on Park Avenue.

A driver on SR-224 was stopped for texting while driving.
Sunday, May 24
Incident: Utility problem
A caller reported a water pipe leak bubbling from the ground on Silver Cloud Court that had reportedly been leaking for at least 24 hours.
Incident: Traffic complaint
A resident on Aerie Drive complained about luxury vehicles and construction trucks speeding through the neighborhood.
Incident: Parking problem
Police responded to a dispute involving improperly parked motorcycles near Heber Avenue and Park Avenue after individuals reportedly became aggressive with parking enforcement.
