Police Log: Drug bust in Jeremy Ranch, disorderly conduct complaints

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office logged a drug-related arrest midweek after deputies located a vehicle tied to active warrants and discovered a range of narcotics, including heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, oxycodone, and Xanax.
The case was reported Wednesday, April 22, at a business along Rasmussen Road in the Jeremy Ranch area. The suspect was taken into custody and booked on new charges in addition to the outstanding warrants.
Other recent incidents included a DUI arrest on Interstate 80, a hit-and-run that left a vehicle damaged on Sidewinder Drive, and concerns about parking, traffic hazards, and illegal dumping across the community.
Monday, April 20
Incident: Suspicious
A caller on Meadow Creek Drive reported their vehicle lights turning on and suspected someone may have entered their truck.
Incident: Wildlife problem
Approximately 50 elk were reported near SR-248 at mile marker 2, with one jumping over a roadside barrier near a curve by the school district.
Incident: Non-injury accident
A collision involving a city vehicle occurred on Bonanza Drive. No injuries were reported, and vehicles were able to be moved.
Incident: Traffic stop
A driver was stopped on Main Street after stopping and parking in an intersection to film and take photos.

A vehicle was reported to have struck an elk near SR-248.

Three men were reported yelling at each other in City Park on Park Avenue.

A man was reported entering a building and acting erratically on Short Line Road before being escorted out.

A caller reported witnessing a vehicle strike an elk and leave the scene without stopping.

A man with an e-bike was reported yelling at people and acting aggressively on Daly Avenue.

A reportedly intoxicated man was harassing people and refusing to leave an area on Park Avenue.
Tuesday, April 21
Incident: Suspicious
Park City police responded to a report of a possible gun being fired from an Uber vehicle on Park Avenue, though authorities later determined the item was not a firearm. The Park City Police Department assisted the Summit County Sheriff’s Office in stopping the vehicle, and no injuries were reported.
Incident: Parking problem
A black pickup truck was reported repeatedly parking on a resident’s grass on Cooke Drive.
Incident: Traffic complaint
Two vehicles were reported driving erratically and racing near Fresh Market.

A caller reported bicycles traveling at high speeds at the Empire Canyon Trailhead, where bikes are not permitted.

A caller reported ongoing illegal dumping in an overfilled dumpster on Ledger Way, with trash blowing into the surrounding area.
Wednesday, April 22
Incident: Drugs
Deputies contacted a vehicle linked to an individual with active warrants near Rasmussen Road. A K9 alerted to the vehicle, and a search revealed multiple controlled substances and paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested.

A large tree was reported blocking most of the roadway on Thaynes Canyon Way near SR-224.
Incident: Hit and run
A vehicle was reported damaged on Sidewinder Drive, with no suspect information available.
Incident: Welfare check
A caller reported a man possibly passed out near the tennis courts on Sullivan Road.
Incident: Suspicious
A vehicle was reported driving recklessly near dumpsters by the rail trail in Richardson Flat.
Thursday, April 23
Incident: Citizen dispute
A caller reported arborists blocking an intersection on Evening Star Drive without proper signage and refusing to move.
Incident: DUI
A driver was stopped on I-80 after failing to maintain a lane. Signs of impairment were observed, and the driver was arrested.
Friday, April 24
Incident: Parking problem
High school students were reported parking improperly along Sidewinder Drive, creating congestion and limiting access.
Incident: Unwanted person
A man reportedly approached someone at a storage unit on Sidewinder Drive and attempted to take their belongings.

Incident: Disorderly
A man was reported throwing his phone in the street on Main Street.

A business reported an individual attempting to use a fake ID on Main Street.

A caller reported hearing a persistent alarm near Woodside Avenue.
Incident: Non-injury accident
A vehicle slid off the road near Marsac Avenue under the Ruby Express lift, with a tow truck partially blocking the roadway while assisting.
