Celebrate Autumn at McPolin Farm’s Scarecrow Festival

PARK CITY, Utah — The annual Scarecrow Festival will return to McPolin Farm on Saturday, October 5, offering a family-friendly event filled with seasonal activities from 2 to 4 p.m. Attendees can take part in face and pumpkin painting, enjoy autumn treats, and build their own scarecrow to be displayed along the farm’s scenic trail.

The festival provides participants with the materials needed to create their scarecrow, including straw for stuffing, a support post along the trail, and a display packet. Guests are encouraged to bring their own items, such as a head, clothing, shoes, and props, to personalize their scarecrow. For those unable to attend the event, the option to build a scarecrow at home and install it at a later time is available, as long as the required registered name tag from the display packet is attached.

Two ticket options are available for the event. Non-event tickets, priced at $25, include a scarecrow support, display packet, and straw for stuffing, with no event attendance required. Event tickets, costing $45 for a group of four, offer the same materials, as well as access to pumpkin painting, face painting, cookies, and cider on the day of the festival.

Scarecrows will remain on display along the trails through October 28, and participants are reminded that no advertising is allowed on their creations. Supplies for non-event ticket holders will be available for pickup starting September 5 at City Hall or after the event from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Parking for the festival is limited, and visitors are encouraged to use Park City Transit, park at Aspen Springs, and hike the Farm trail or access the venue via the tunnel from the east side of SR-224. Parking along the highway is prohibited for safety reasons.
