Gwyneth Paltrow ski trial musical coming to Park City

This will be the show's U.S. debut

PARK CITY, Utah — The parody musical of the Gwyneth Paltrow ski trial will make its way back to the place where it all began, Park City.

Gwyneth Goes Skiing,” a proponent of the London theater company Awkward Productions, is coming to the Egyptian Theatre on Main Street in Park City, Variety reported today.

The 90-minute production, described as a story of “love, betrayal, skiing, and (somehow) Christmas,” debuted at Pleasance London in December.

The musical parodies Gwyneth Paltrow’s 2023 legal battle with optometrist Terry Sanderson, who claimed that Paltrow violently crashed into him in 2016 while skiing at Deer Valley Resort. Although a jury ultimately found Paltrow not at fault for the incident, in “Gwyneth Goes Skiing,” the audience acts as the jury.

The show’s Park City run will feature “Gwyneth Goes Skiing” creators Linus Karp and Joseph Martin reprising their roles as Paltrow and Sanderson, as well as new vocals from Darren Criss of “Glee” fame, Cat Cohen from “What We Do in the Shadows,” and drag queen Trixie Mattel, who will be joining the show digitally.

Variety did not report when the show will make its Park City debut.
