Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is selling

JACKSON, WY – The Kemmerer family announced today Aug 3 that after 31 years of ownership they plan to sell Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2023. Unlike the major Park City resorts owned by conglomerates Vail Resorts ( Park City Mountain ) and Alterra Mountain Company ( Deer Valley ) the Kemmerers were proud independent ski resort owners and were able to transition ownership to Teton County residents. Eric Macy, Mike Corbat, their families and a small, select group of co-investors are slated to become the new resort owners upon closing of the deal.

JHMR said in a statement “As the Kemmerers watched the consolidation of the ski industry, their highest priority was maintaining JHMR’s status as an independent, family-owned Resort.”

“The time has come to transition ownership of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. We take great pride in what JHMR has become and what it represents to the Jackson Hole community and the state of Wyoming,” said Jay Kemmerer. “It is of utmost importance to me that the next ownership maintains the integrity and character of the mountain that we have worked so hard to build over the past three decades. There is no better fit for this ownership transition than Eric and Mike and their families, who share the same vision for the future of JHMR and its importance to our great community. I’m excited and proud to pass along this iconic, family-run ski resort to these two strong Jackson Hole families.”

Financial details of the private transaction will not be disclosed.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is a ski resort in the western United States, at Teton Village, Wyoming. In the Teton Range of the Rocky Mountains, it is located in Teton County, twelve miles northwest of Jackson and due south of Grand Teton National Park.

It is named after the historically significant Jackson Hole valley and is known for its steep terrain and large continuous vertical drop of 4,139 ft (1,262 m).
