Deer Valley named North America’s top ski resort in Condé Nast rankings

Deer Valley Resort topped Condé Nast Traveler’s North American ski resort rankings, while Park City Mountain and Sundance Mountain Resort also earned spots in the magazine’s top 20 U.S. ski resorts.

PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort was named the top ski resort in North America in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards, while also ranking second in the magazine’s U.S.-only category.

Solitude Mountain Resort ranked sixth in the North American category, while Park City Mountain Resort and Sundance Mountain Resort both landed in the top 20 of the U.S. rankings.

The annual awards are based on reader votes. Nearly 799,000 readers participated in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 survey, which covers travel categories including resorts, hotels and destinations.

In the North American category, Deer Valley earned a score of 97.78 out of 100, ahead of Sun Valley in Idaho, which ranked second, and Vail in Colorado, which placed third. Solitude, located in Big Cottonwood Canyon, scored 93.12 to take sixth place.

In the U.S.-only rankings, Deer Valley narrowly missed the top spot, scoring 94.23 compared with Big Sky Resort in Montana, which led the list with 94.29.

Park City Mountain ranked eighth nationally with a score of 92.97, while Sundance Mountain Resort in Provo Canyon placed 20th with 87.45.

Sundance also earned recognition in the magazine’s Mountain West resort category, ranking third. Black Desert Resort in southern Utah placed fifth in the same category.

“For us, the recognition reflects more than a ranking,” resort officials said in a statement. “It reflects the people who have skied the mountain, stayed beneath the peaks, gathered around our tables, spent time in the art studio, and found their own reasons to return.”

The awards come ahead of the 2026-27 ski season, when Utah resorts are preparing to welcome visitors back to the slopes for a redemption round after last season’s lackluster snow season.
