‘Storm of the season’ brings delays and cancellations to SLC International Airport

SALT LAKE CITY — The “storm of the season” has touched down in Utah, and it’s not just impacting road travel.

At the time of this article, there were 111 total delays at the Salt Lake International Airport, including flights in and out of the city, and 56 total cancellations, according to data from Flight Aware.

Southwest Airlines was responsible for most canceled flights, with 22 and 15 delayed flights.

Southwest was followed closely by SkyWest with 21 canceled flights and 15 delayed flights, and Delta with eight canceled flights and 73 delayed flights.

Second to the Salt Lake City International Airport, most of the delayed or canceled flights originated from or were destined for the Denver International Airport. The Denver area is also currently experiencing heavy snow conditions, resulting in road and school closures.

The Salt Lake City International Airport has recommended that passengers check with their airline regarding any flight cancellations or delays.
