PARK CITY, Utah — James Beard award-winning chef and restaurateur Galen Zamarra brings his culinary expertise to Park City with the management of all food and beverage operations at 660 Main Street, previously the Zoom Restaurant owned by Robert Redford, and in the hotel Main & Sky at 201 Heber Avenue.
In partnership with investment firm Reef Capital, Zamarra’s experience and success in the culinary industry are sure to bring a new level of dining to Park City.
Six food and beverage outlets are slated to converge on Main Street through this partnership. Après ski, a night out on the town, or a coffee date are all opportunities to try what Zamarra will be creating.
“We have to start the design and the construction build-out; even though the [Zoom] area was a restaurant, it has been vacant for four years,” said Zamarra. “We are hopeful we can get it done in under 18 months. I already had these concepts in my mind on their own, but [Reef] had these spaces that worked out well; they just needed someone to operate them. There is so much interest in that space; everyone used to love it; I am excited to put something in there that I know people will love.”
Previously, Zamarra was executive chef of Yuta at The Lodge at Blue Sky in Wanship, where he introduced the community to his exquisite dishes utilizing fresh ingredients and capturing the farm-to-table concept. He has been recognized for his exceptional dishes and creativity in the industry throughout his career.
“Reef Capital Partners is excited to join forces with someone as notable as Galen Zamarra and his team,” said Jed Robinson, director of Reef Private Equity. “Chef Galen brings a lifetime of rich experience and impressive talent to Main & Sky. Reef believes that Chef Galen’s culinary expertise will create a world-class dining experience that will be sought after and cherished not only in our beloved community of Park City but also achieve national recognition. Additionally, this partnership is just the beginning of a journey toward a renewed vision of excellence for Main & Sky.”
