Watch: new PBS documentary showcases Zion National Park

SPRINGDALE, Utah — If you are suffering from movie-watching withdrawal with the Sundance Film Festival wrapping up on Sunday, PBS Utah is coming through in the clutch with a new documentary about Zion National Park in southwestern Utah.

Produced in partnership with the Zion Natl Park Forever Project, Call of the Canyon looks at the timeline of Zion from the early explorers and artists whose works inspired the park’s initial establishment to its current status as a worldwide destination that draws more than 4 million visitors per year.

Come April 1, anyone who wants to hike the narrow Angels Landing Trail at Zion will need to get a permit through a lottery system.
