RideOn Challenge encourages Park City workforce to alleviate traffic
PARK CITY, Utah – Park City Municipal announces the launch of its RideOn Winter Commute Challenge in partnership with the Park City Chamber of Commerce, Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Park City resorts.
The RideOn Challenge asks Park City businesses to encourage employees to use the RideOn Park City app with which they can plan carpooling, public transit use, biking, and walking routes. Employees participating in the challenge are eligible to win $3,500 in prizes for their efforts in helping alleviate traffic and congestion experienced by the city.
“As we welcome guests back to our mountain community this winter, we all must work together to address the impacts of automobile use,” said Park City Manager Matt Dias. “RideOn Park City is part of the solution, providing an alternative that reduces traffic and makes Park City a healthier, safer, and more sustainable community.”
Launched in 2019, the RideOn program has logged over 16,00 carpool, transit, walking, and biking trips; thus reducing an estimated 200,000 miles of driving and 46.8 tons of carbon dioxide pollution.
Businesses from Old Town to Kimball Junction have free access to the platform via parkcity.rideamigos.com or through the CommuteTracker app.
