Park City rebrands in the name of ‘sustainable tourism’

PARK CITY, Utah — So long, pinecone. The Park City Chamber of Commerce, Convention & Visitors Bureau is unveiling a new, dynamic brand. Dan Howard, the vice president of communications for the chamber, said, “Park City is asking guests to visit with consciousness this summer and is launching a new brand campaign, coining a new phrase to encourage best practices in the realms of trail etiquette to recycling, water usage, public transit, car-free travel and wildlife awareness, to name just a few.  ‘Mountainkind’ will become a phrase associated with visitor behavior so those who visit Park City will do so with a mindset of cooperation and destination preservation.”

The chamber is hosting the Wasatch Back Economic Summit on May 14 for both members and the public, where they will provide further details about the brand’s official launch and what it means for residents and the future of our town.

A public open house to learn more about the re-brand will take place on May 23 at the Visitor Center in Kimball Junction, with a hot dog and burger lunch for those who attend.
