PCHS Miners football beats East by one point
PARK CITY, Utah. — Now at a season record of 1 – 3, the Park City High School (PCHS) Miners won Friday night’s home game against Salt Lake City’s East High. The final score was 23 – 24.
With hundreds in attendance on a dry autumn evening, the first quarter ended with Park City up 7 – 14.
In the second quarter Miner Joe Eldridge caught a touchdown pass making it 7 – 20.
The halftime score was 10 – 21.
Park City kicked a field goal with one minute left in the third, ending the quarter at 10 – 24.
As the final quarter wound down, East passed for a touchdown, made the extra point then shortly thereafter rushed in with another late-game touchdown bringing the board to 23 – 24.
The Loepard’s chance to even it up with a minute to go resulted in a missed extra point keeping that close score through to the end of the game.
The Miners play their next game away in Salt Lake City at Murray High School.
