Calls for service: Police and sheriff logs

Calls for service to the Park City Police Department (PCPD) and the Summit County Sheriff’s Department (SCSD) for the week of August 30 – September 5.

MONDAY:

SCSD – In the area commonly known as the ‘Blue Roof’ neighborhood, a resident called describing the video their doorbell camera captured of a man stealing two delivered packages from her off her porch in the middle of the night earlier in the week.
 
TUESDAY:
 
SCSD – A man called to report that several tools of his had been stolen from his job site in the Promontory neighborhood.
 
PCPD – Officers responded to a call regarding a person experiencing physical distress at an apartment on Kearns. While en route, the person became unresponsive and CPR was initiated. Officers were the first to arrive and took over patient care until EMS arrived. CPR continued prior to and while the patient was transported to the U of U Medical Center.

WEDNESDAY:

SCSD – A traffic stop was initiated on Highland Dr. for a headlight violation. Upon contact with the driver, signs of impairment were detected, open containers were observed, and there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver’s person. The driver, a Park City man in his 60s, participated in standardized field sobriety tests on which he performed poorly.  He was subsequently taken into custody for DUI and the open container offense at which point the car was impounded.

THURSDAY:

SCSD – Deputies responded via phone call to a previously occurred vehicle burglary which took place in the parking lot near the Kimball Jct. post office. A woman stated that she had left a laptop on the seat of her vehicle with the window down as she ran errands in the Redstone area on Tuesday. She stated that she realized that the device was missing on Wednesday. She didn’t see anyone suspicious in the area at the time of the occurrence and no cameras were available for surveillance.

SCSD – A car was stopped in Newpark for an equipment violation. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed user amounts of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. The owner of the vehicle was arrested for possession of drugs and paraphernalia as well as active warrants.
