Firefighting resources reduced as Art Nord Fire nears 100% containment

WEBER COUNTY, Utah — Fire incident management at the Art Nord Fire has determined that the potential for the blaze to cross the containment line is low.

Due to the increased coverage, firefighting resources have been reduced today. It is currently 85% contained.

The U.S. Forest Service said in a statement that it will have local firefighters on scene to patrol the perimeter until the fire is 100% contained.

The temporary closure of Old Snowbasin Road has been lifted.

The fire was human-caused by a target shooting. The greatest size the fire reached was 46.3 acres.
