Join the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter in this outdoor project managing invasive weeds! Invasive weeds crowd out native species and impair habitat. This is a great way to get onto areas of the Preserve that are not open to the public. Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. MEETING LOCATION TBD Volunteers should wear closed-toed sturdy shoes, pants, hat, bug spray, and sunscreen. Bring water and a snack if needed. Work gloves will be available to borrow but bring your
Forest Bathing (shinrin-yoku) is an opportunity to slow down, come home to the present moment, commune with Nature, and create spaciousness. It allows for a deepening of our inner and outer awareness, and rejuvenation at all levels. Join Summit Land Conservancy and Ian Napper at Rocky Point Preserve where you can "bathe" in nature and discover peace, solace, and gratitude for this incredible place. These hikes are limited to 20 people and the Summit Land Conservancy requests a $10 contribution to support the resources and guidance provided during our nature bathing experience.
