Sundance offers Utah residents online ticket deal as festival moves to Boulder

PARK CITY, Utah — The Sundance Film Festival is moving to its new home this year, but the organization is extending an offer for the digital portion of the event to residents of its former host state.

Utah residents can get 20% off online passes and ticket packages for the 2027 Sundance Film Festival, an offer from the festival as it leaves Park City for Boulder, Colorado.

The limited-time discount applies to all online festival products and will be available while supplies last. Passes and ticket packages go on sale Thursday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. Mountain Time.

Utah residents can enter the promo code SFF27UT20 at checkout to receive the discount. The offer expires Friday, Oct. 30, at midnight.

The discounted products include:

  • Online Festival Pass: $660, regularly $825
  • Online Festival Ticket Package: $280, regularly $350
  • Online Festival Short Films Pass: $36, regularly $45
  • Online Festival Bundle: $48, regularly $60

The 2027 Sundance Film Festival is scheduled for Jan. 21–31 in Boulder, Colorado. Online screenings will run Jan. 28–31, allowing audiences to watch select festival films from home.

The move to Boulder marks the end of the festival’s more than 40-year run in Utah, where Park City became a central gathering place for independent filmmakers, industry professionals, and moviegoers each winter.

In an email announcing the discount, Sundance Institute acknowledged Utah’s role in the festival’s history, thanking the state for supporting the filmmakers and stories that defined the event for more than four decades.
