Crews respond to lightning-caused Meeks Fire in Wasatch County

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — A new fire in Wasatch County sparked Sunday afternoon east of Strawberry Reservoir and is burning on private land, according to Utah Fire Info.

The Meeks Fire was reported Sunday afternoon and has grown to an estimated 12 acres as of Monday afternoon.

Ground resources responded to the scene after the fire was reported. Officials said the fire was determined to have been caused by lightning.

At this time, no structures are threatened.

The Meeks Fire is one of several lightning-caused wildfires reported across Utah following recent thunderstorms.
