Woman arrested after alleged Oakley crime spree in white limousine

OAKLEY, Utah — A woman is facing multiple felony charges after Summit County Sheriff’s deputies say she attempted to rob an Oakley convenience store at knifepoint, led officers on a pursuit in a white limousine, and was connected to a series of incidents that unfolded across Oakley on Tuesday, June 2.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Summit County’s 3rd District Court, 37-year-old Roslin Castell was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, failing to stop for police, providing false information to law enforcement, making threats of violence, and leaving the scene of a property-damage accident.

The incident began shortly before 10 p.m. when deputies were dispatched to a reported bomb threat in Oakley. While responding, authorities received a separate report of an armed robbery at Ken’s Kash Store on Center Street.

A store clerk told deputies that a woman entered the store holding a knife with an approximately three-inch blade and announced that she was robbing the business because she needed money. According to the affidavit, the suspect was unable to open the cash register. After the clerk said he was going to call 911, the woman left the store and drove away in a white limousine.

Investigators also connected the limousine to another incident reported shortly after the alleged robbery. Court documents state that an 18-year-old woman told deputies she was struck in the legs by a white limousine while running. The driver then allegedly demanded the runner’s cellphone and told her, “I don’t want to have to hurt you.”

The runner reportedly fled home while the limousine followed her and parked for a time in the home’s driveway before leaving.

According to the affidavit, the runner’s father then followed the limousine. Deputies say the limousine later backed into the father’s vehicle while stopped near Oakridge Lane and Weber Canyon Road, causing an estimated $1,000 to $2,000 in damage before leaving the scene.

A deputy reported spotting a white limousine matching the description shortly afterward and attempted a traffic stop. According to court documents, the driver failed to pull over despite emergency lights, sirens, and public-address commands from the patrol vehicle.

Deputies and Utah Highway Patrol pursued the limousine for approximately five miles at speeds ranging from 25 to 53 mph before spike strips successfully disabled the vehicle, the affidavit states.

Authorities say the driver exited the limousine and ran before being taken into custody in a roadside culvert. Deputies allegedly recovered a knife from the vehicle and found an empty knife sheath attached to the suspect’s belt.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that an explosives detection K-9 was deployed on the vehicle following the arrest. “We did deploy an explosives detection canine on the vehicle after this person was taken into custody and determined that there were no explosives in the vehicle,” Lt. Skyler Talbot said.

Investigations revealed the woman was a former employee of Chateau Health & Wellness, and she had been terminated and was believed to be living in Oklahoma. Talbot said investigators believe her boyfriend was the third-party caller who contacted Oklahoma City police to alert Summit County to the bomb threat.

The affidavit notes that Castell allegedly lives in her vehicle and has a criminal history in multiple states. Prosecutors requested continued detention, arguing that the charges involve multiple felonies and that she posed a danger to the community and a flight risk.

As of publication, the allegations remain accusations. Formal charges are filed by prosecutors, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
