PARK CITY, Utah — As Recycle Utah prepares to move into a new facility several times larger than its current location, the nonprofit is asking residents what they want to see in the future recycling center.
“We’re beginning to imagine what the next chapter of Recycle Utah could look like — a new facility designed to better serve our community, expand what’s possible, and meet the growing needs of Summit County,” the organization said in a community message. “And we want to build it with you, not just for you.”
The community survey asks residents to weigh in on potential services, programs, and amenities for the new site. Ideas include expanded community programming, a swap shop for reusable items, and even a café or gathering space.
Residents can complete the survey through Recycle Utah’s website.
Recycle Utah will close Sundays
The organization also announced it will close on Sundays beginning June 7 as it prepares for the transition to the new facility. Access to the site will be blocked until reopening Monday mornings at 8 a.m.
Recycle Utah said the reduced hours are intended to help staff manage day-to-day operations while planning and preparing for the move.
“While planning for the future facility and preparing to move, we need to make sure our staff has the time and capacity to keep our current operations running safely and effectively,” the organization said.
Officials are also asking residents not to attempt to enter the facility while it is closed.
