PARK CITY, Utah — David Feasler is stepping down as head baseball coach at Park City High School after 10 seasons leading the Miners, the school announced.
Jamie Sheetz has been named the program’s new head coach.
Feasler, who took over the program in 2016, will remain at Park City High School as a business and economics teacher and will continue with the baseball program as an assistant coach.
During his tenure, Feasler became the winningest coach in Park City baseball history, recording 157 career wins. Under his leadership, the Miners won three region championships, earned three top-eight finishes at the state tournament, and had one top-three state finish.
His impact also extended beyond the field, according to the school. During Feasler’s time as head coach, 62 players graduated from the program. Nineteen went on to play baseball at the collegiate level, and one, Ryan Brady, a member of the Class of 2017, reached affiliated professional baseball.
“Leading Park City Baseball for the past ten seasons has been the honor of my life,” Feasler said. “I will always be grateful to Bob O’Connor and Jamie Sheetz for taking a chance on me as a 23-year-old head coach in 2016. I want to thank the players, assistant coaches, administrators, parents, and the Park City community for their support and belief in this program.”
Feasler said he is proud of the team’s accomplishments, but even more proud of the students who came through the program.
“I’m proud of what we accomplished on the field, but I’m even more proud of the young men and women who came through this program and went on to succeed in college, careers, families, and life,” Feasler said. “Park City Baseball changed my life, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to represent the Miners. I can’t wait to see the program continue to grow under Coach Sheetz, an incredibly gifted coach and leader.”
Principal Fine thanked Feasler for his decade of leadership.
“I am incredibly grateful to Coach Feasler for leading our baseball program for the past 10 seasons,” Fine said. “Feasler has had a profound impact on our students and has given his heart and soul to their success. Thank you, Coach Feasler.”
The transition keeps Feasler connected to the program while Sheetz takes over as head coach for the Miners’ next chapter.
