PARK CITY, Utah — Park City students will have not one but two chances to ditch the car and roll to school this May, with separate Bike to School Day events organized by Basin Recreation and the Park City School District.

Basin Recreation kicks things off on Friday, May 8, with Bike to School Day at Parley’s Park, Jeremy Ranch and Trailside elementary schools and Ecker Hill Middle School. Students who ride to campus between 7:45 and 8:30 a.m. will be greeted with snacks, drinks and fun giveaways, according to Basin Recreation. For more information, contact Hanna Markel at (435) 649-1564.

The Park City School District is promoting a second Bike to School Day on Friday, May 15, encouraging all students at McPolin Elementary and Park City High School — to bike, walk or roll to campus. The district said more information will be shared as the date approaches, according to the district.
Both events are part of a broader effort to get students moving, reduce car trips and turn the morning commute into a community celebration of active transportation, outdoor activity and environmental awareness.
