Brighton Resort extends ski season through May 10 amid late snowfall

BRIGHTON, Utah — After a disappointing winter season, with ski resorts opening late and closing early, Brighton has announced an extension of its season. It will extend its 2025-2026 winter season through Sunday, May 10, following recent fresh snowfall and continued strong guest demand.

The resort will continue operating its popular spring “Meltdown” offerings, giving skiers and snowboarders additional time on the mountain. To mark the extension, lift tickets will be offered at $49 per day, one of the lowest prices of the season.

“We’ve had a great late-season boost from recent storms, and the interest from our guests made the decision easy,” said Jared Winkler, a Brighton Resort spokesperson. “Spring skiing is always a special time up here, and we’re excited to keep it going a little longer.”

Brighton, located in Big Cottonwood Canyon southeast of Salt Lake City, typically wraps up its season in late April. The extension comes as several recent storm systems have refreshed the snowpack and enthusiasm among guests has remained high heading into May.

Guests are encouraged to check daily conditions and operations updates on the resort’s website before visiting.
