SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — A suspect connected to a reported domestic assault in the Bear Hollow neighborhood has been taken into custody, according to an update from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the individual was arrested shortly after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday after returning to the residence on Bobsled Boulevard, where the incident originally occurred.
The arrest follows an extensive law enforcement response Sunday afternoon that drew a heavy police presence to the neighborhood. Deputies were initially dispatched just after 3 p.m. to a report of a domestic disturbance at a home on Bobsled Boulevard, where they believed an adult male suspect had barricaded himself inside.
Out of caution, additional resources and tactical units were called in, and officers established a perimeter around the area. The response lasted more than six hours before authorities determined the suspect was no longer inside the residence and cleared the scene later that evening.
At the time, officials said there was no immediate threat to public safety, but the suspect remained at large as investigators continued to pursue leads.
No additional details about the arrest have been released.
The individual has not been formally charged. Officials emphasized that the allegations remain under investigation and that the accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
