UPDATE April 19, 10:29 p.m. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has released additional information about the incident in the Bear Hollow neighborhood.
According to a media release from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just after 3:00 p.m. to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Bobsled Boulevard. The Sheriff’s Office initially believed the alleged suspect, an adult male, was barricaded alone inside the home, and additional resources, including tactical units, were requested “out of an abundance of caution.”
The response stretched more than six hours, with armed officers in tactical gear staged throughout the neighborhood as the situation developed. Deputies later confirmed the individual was no longer inside the residence.
The suspect remains outstanding, but the Sheriff’s Office said there is no immediate threat to public safety. Law enforcement cleared the scene at approximately 9:15 p.m.
“This incident remains active, and investigators will continue to follow leads and pursue the case until an apprehension is made,” the Sheriff’s Office said in the release.
