Police Log: Bike theft at trailhead, early-morning noise complaints, and porta potty trailer topples into roadway

Park City police and Summit County deputies responded to a series of reports last week including a bicycle theft at the Overland Trailhead, a tipped-over porta potty trailer, and repeated noise complaints during overnight and early morning hours.
Other incidents included reports of reckless driving along major corridors, suspicious vehicles, and several disturbances involving loud music, barking dogs, and late-night activity in residential neighborhoods.
Monday, June 15
Incident: Disturbing the peace
A caller reported a construction truck operating outside a residence near Monitor Drive and Lucky John Drive around 3:30 a.m., creating significant noise.
Incident: Citizen assist
A resident on April Mountain Drive reported a loud intermittent buzzing sound coming from a nearby residence in the early morning hours.
Incident: Theft
A complainant reported a delayed theft of a bicycle from a vehicle parked at the Overland Trailhead while hiking. The victim provided a description and value of the bike but had no suspect information, though a suspicious U-Haul was observed in the area.
Tuesday, June 16
Incident: Traffic stop
A yellow dump truck was reported dropping rocks onto the roadway near Daly Avenue, creating a safety hazard. The vehicle also reportedly had no rear license plate.
Incident: Traffic hazard
A large crane was reported partially blocking the roadway near Aerie Drive after becoming disabled due to transmission issues, with limited traffic control measures in place.
Wednesday, June 17
Incident: Property watch
Construction equipment with lights on was reported at a Kearns Boulevard job site shortly after midnight, though no individuals were located on scene.
Incident: Disturbing the peace
A caller reported a dog barking continuously for hours on Sidewinder Drive, noting lights on inside the residence but no visible occupants or vehicles.

Incident: Traffic stop
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Deer Valley Drive near Snow Park and confirmed the speed using LIDAR.
Friday, June 19
Incident: Traffic stop
A vehicle was cited for traveling 70 mph in a 45 mph zone in Silver Springs.
Incident: ATL (attempt to locate)
A driver in a dark-tinted red Honda was reported driving recklessly near SR-224 and Payday Drive, passing between vehicles at a high rate of speed.

A caller reported loud activity from a residence on Deer Valley Loop Road.

Incident: Traffic hazard
A tipped-over porta potty trailer was reported blocking the northbound lane near Kearns Boulevard and Monitor Drive.

A late-night party with loud noise was reported on Marsac Avenue.

A vehicle was reported running unattended in a parking lot for several hours overnight, with no occupant visible inside.

A white Toyota Sienna was involved in a road incident near Park Avenue and Kearns Boulevard, including an object thrown at a vehicle and heavy traffic buildup.

A vehicle filled with debris and beer cans was reported with a broken window, raising concerns it may have been stolen.
