Police Log: Transit bus hits moose; bar disturbances on Main Street

A vehicle burglary at a Kimball Junction hotel resulted in roughly $800 worth of tools stolen from an unlocked truck, while multiple DUI arrests were made throughout the week in separate incidents. Wildlife collisions and hazards were also reported, including a transit bus striking a moose. Additional calls included a mailbox break-in, hit-and-run on Main Street, and several disturbances at local businesses.
Monday, March 9
Incident: Vehicle burglary
Approximately $800 worth of tools were reported stolen from an unlocked truck parked at a hotel on Ute Boulevard. The theft occurred overnight. No suspect information is available.
Incident: Non-injury accident
A T-bone crash was reported near Deer Valley Drive and Main Street. No injuries were reported, and vehicles were able to be moved from the roadway.
Incident: Animal problem
Multiple dogs were reported off leash and running at large near the Miners Hospital area. Owners were nearby and throwing a ball for the dogs.
Incident: Drugs
A subject with an active warrant was contacted at a local business and arrested after narcotics were found in their possession.
Incident: DUI
A driver was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Old Ranch Road after showing signs of impairment and performing poorly on field sobriety tests.
Tuesday, March 10
Incident: Theft
A mailbox structure was pried open near Kilby Road and Balsam Drive. It is unknown if any mail was taken. No suspect information is available.
Incident: Business assist
A snowmobile on a trailer was reported parked without permission on private property along Solamere Drive for several days.
Incident: DUI
A driver was arrested for DUI near Bob Sled Boulevard and Lillehammer Lane after a traffic stop and failed field sobriety tests.

Incident: Welfare check
An Uber driver reported two individuals passed out near Heber Avenue and Swede Alley. Officers responded to check on their condition.
Incident: Accident involving wildlife
A Park City transit driver reported striking a moose near SR-224. No passengers were on board at the time.

Incident: Wildlife problem
A dead moose was reported along Marsac Avenue near the lower gates.
Friday, March 13
Incident: Property damage
A caller reported their vehicle was hit overnight on Trailside Court, causing significant damage estimated at more than $5,000.
Saturday, March 14
Incident: Hit and run
A parked vehicle was struck on Main Street by another car. The suspect vehicle left the scene.
Incident: Wildlife problem
An injured deer was reported near the intersection of Sunny Slopes Drive and Meadows Drive.

Employees at a Main Street bar reported an older male in dirty clothing causing concern.

A group of rowdy individuals was reported at another Main Street bar and requested to be removed.
