BREAKING: Park City main street evacuated amid bomb threat at Egyptian Theatre

UPDATE 3:47 p.m — Park City Police have confirmed Main Street has fully reopened following the all-clear at the Egyptian Theatre. According to a press release from Lt. Danielle Snelson, Summit County Dispatch received the bomb threat call at approximately 12:22 p.m. from an individual claiming a bomb had been planted inside the theater. K-9 units trained in explosive detection conducted a thorough sweep of the theater and surrounding areas. Nothing suspicious was located. The incident remains under investigation.

UPDATE 2:19 p.m. — The Egyptian Theatre has been cleared by bomb squad officials with no findings. Main Street will begin reopening to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Police are evacuating Main Street after authorities received a report of a bomb threat at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St., officials confirmed Saturday.

Park City Police and Park City Fire District are jointly responding to the incident. Fire trucks are currently blocking traffic on Swede Alley and at the top of Main Street as of 12:48 p.m.

As of 1:44 p.m., hazmat and bomb squad teams were preparing to enter the building to conduct a sweep with K-9 units.

Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation is underway.
