Summit County invites community input on General Plan Updates before Dec. 2 deadline
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Summit County officials are asking residents and visitors to weigh in on the region’s future development through online surveys available until December 2.
The surveys will help shape updates to general plans for both the Snyderville Basin and Eastern Summit County, which guide decisions about growth, land use and resources for up to 50 years.
The current surveys focus on two main themes: managing natural resources and responsible growth, along with promoting healthy living and preserving community identity.
Utah state law requires general plans to address several key areas, including affordable housing, land use, and water preservation. The county maintains separate plans for its eastern region and the Snyderville Basin to address their distinct needs.
The surveys follow last year’s initiative, where residents identified five main objectives for the county’s future planning:
- Manage natural resources
- Promote healthy living
- Preserve unique community identities
- Create inclusive communities
- Grow responsibly
Anyone with a connection to Summit County, including residents, business owners, and visitors, is encouraged to participate in the surveys. Visit summitcounty.info/gpupdates to complete the surveys by December 2.
Your input will help shape a sustainable, inclusive future for Summit County.
