Leadership Park City launches bilingual community app for Spanish speakers
PARK CITY, Utah — Leadership Park City unveiled their class project, the Colectiva app, on Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter.
Designed as a bilingual resource hub, the Colectiva app aims to bridge the gap in access to essential services for the Spanish-speaking community in Park City and Summit County, serving as a centralized platform providing users with information on healthcare, housing, recreation, and education programs, among other services. With content available in both Spanish and English, the app caters to the needs of the area’s diverse population.
The app is free to download and offers unrestricted access to a wide range of resources for the general public, with a particular emphasis on Spanish speakers. Organizations can also benefit from the platform, with the ability to directly manage and update their information within the app, ensuring real-time communication with the community.
Leadership Park City’s Class sees this initiative as a critical step toward fostering inclusivity. “Our minority community has voiced that there is a significant gap in their ability to access resources,” the Steering Committe shared. “This app aims to close that gap, ensuring that all residents, especially Spanish speakers, feel supported and connected.”
By simplifying access to essential services and programs, the Colectiva App aspires to strengthen the bond between Spanish-speaking residents and the greater community of Park City and Summit County.
While the initial focus is on Spanish and English, future updates may include additional languages, reflecting the app’s goal of serving the broader community.
