Arrest made by Park City Police in connection to Roots, Park City Christian Center thefts

PARK CITY, Utah – A woman was arrested and faces felony theft charges after allegedly stealing handbags from two Park City locations. According to court documents, the woman entered the Roots store on Main Street last Friday and walked out with seven handbags valued at nearly $1,600.

An employee, who had noticed the woman’s suspicious behavior, recorded her Utah license plate number, leading police to locate her driving on state Route 224 near Canyons Village.

After being stopped by police, the woman admitted to stealing the bags from Roots and additional items from the Christian Center’s thrift store on Deer Valley Drive.

The Christian Center chose not to pursue charges, but the Roots store pressed for legal action. The woman was subsequently booked into the Summit County Jail and later released on her own recognizance with a court appearance scheduled for a future date.
