1 killed in early morning crash in Park City

A witness reported the WRX was racing another vehicle. Local agencies are in the process of tracking down the other vehicle involved.
PARK CITY, Utah — One person was killed after their car crashed into a tree and burst into flames early Thursday morning, according to state troopers.
According to Utah Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Sgt. Cameron Roden, a black 2019 Subaru WRX was traveling southbound on SR-224 in the area of milepost six on Thursday, July 18, at approximately 1:37 a.m. when it left its lane of travel to the right and struck a tree.
The WRX became fully engulfed, and the 29-year-old male driver, the sole occupant, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
A witness reported the WRX was racing another vehicle. Local agencies are in the process of tracking down the other vehicle involved. SR-224 was closed in both directions until approximately 6 a.m.
