MIDA approves purchase of 42 workforce housing units at Deer Valley’s East Village

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Military Installation Development Authority (MIDA) approved the purchase of workforce housing units at Deer Valley’s East Village.

MIDA will purchase Building D in the Pioche Village development, which is within the MIDA Military Recreation Facility Project Area, and use the building’s 42 units to house local workers.

The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, which is slated to open this November, will utilize 14 of the units for under two years at a market-rate lease. This will enable the 442-room hotel to house workers nearby.

At the same meeting, MIDA’s board also approved a nearly $81 million budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, significantly less than the authority’s nearly $126 million current budget.
