Southfield Park skate park closed indefinitely after multiple vandalism incidents

HEBER CITY, Utah — The skate park at Southfield Park will remain closed indefinitely after two instances of vandalism occurred earlier this week.

According to an Instagram post from Wasatch County Parks and Recreation, the restrooms and surrounding areas at Southfield Park were vandalized on the afternoon or evening of April 21, and again on the evening of April 23. Damages to the bathroom included graffiti, broken sinks and stalls, doors.

As a result of the vandalism, restrooms at the park will have limited hours moving forward. The facilities will be open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. all other days. A port-a-potty and restrooms at the ball field will also be available for use.

The Heber City Police Department will survey the skate park, and anyone attempting to access the park while it is closed will be prosecuted.
